This is a 1:7 model of Surveyor III.  Its frame is made from brass which has been silver soldered and micro welded together.  Most of its parts were resin cast.
Proach Models has built 2 Surveyor III models in this scale.  The one pictured here was built for Ron Shinkle of Texas, a private collector and good friend of Nick Proach.  The other Surveyor was built for Apollo 12 astronaut Alan Bean, who visited the real Surveyor III when he walked on the moon in November of 1969.
